Why I’m helping new mums with their personal fitness

As a teenager, I struggled with depression, and I quickly found that fitness wasn’t just an antidote, but also my professional calling. As an adult, exercise increased my strength, both physically and mentally, and brought me happiness. But after giving birth to my daughter Freya, the difficult post-partum months plunged me back into the darkness with postnatal depression. Financial demands required me to return to work with a 5-week-old baby, and the reality of juggling my new family life was challenging to say the least. But once again, exercise was the tool that powered me through these post-natal hurdles.

As a new mum, I believe in being open and honest about the challenges mothers face – and it’s this learning that inspired my Mighty Mamas Method (MMM), a new fitness club. By creating a fitness community, my mum’s club aims to encourage and empower mums to move, find happiness, and prioritise their health. Develop: based on your assessment you will start one of our three training programmes aligned with your ability and fitness goals

Refine: I will continuously track your progress and refine your training programme for improved results

Why join our “Mighty Mamas Method”?

The MMM is semi - private training group that dedicated to new mums ran from our private Islington studio in London.

Exercise as a new mum can be daunting, but my semi - private training aims to ease you in, equipping you with recommended safe and effective movements that will improve your post-birth recovery.

As a mother who’s been through this fitness journey, I want to make sure that you feel heard, and that you have all the benefits of personal training. This is why I have capped each session at three mums in attendance only. With a small group of max 3 mums, I will collectively work on your technique and form, whilst getting to learn your individual fitness and health goals.

Is joining a mums fitness club right for me?

Advanced Mama Lifter, total novice or somewhere in between? Where you’re starting from isn’t as important as where you’re heading!

MMM is made up of two groups: advanced and beginners. The advanced group is for mothers who have a good understanding of Squats, Deadlifts, Bench and base compound lifts.

Ideally, you would have at least six months of previous barbell and strength training. If you are completely new to lifting, we would advise you to join the beginner level focused on developing the foundational skills.
